| Frequently Asked Questions |
| 1. WHY IS THIS THE BEST BIKE SEAT? |
Yes this is the fastest growing child bike seat in the world Yes it fits all bikes (except drop handle bars), including oversized head tubes. No other seat fits as many bikes. Yes it fits to FULL SUSPENSION MOUNTAIN BIKES which is unique Yes the seat comes with a headrest for your child to fall asleep on Yes the bar is easy to fit Yes it fits to Ladies and Men’s bikes Yes Kangaroo Ltd is the most comfortable child seat available Yes it does have a 5 point safety strap whereas most others have 3 point Yes our footrests are enclosed as we believe this is safer, and they are adjustable Yes you can switch between bikes in seconds with an extra bar Yes everything you need is in the box including seat, bar and tools Yes you can call us and we will answer your questions. We only want happy customers and if you have ANY problems, we will resolve. Or email sales@BuyBestBikes.com Yes you can return if you don’t like
Yes there are other seats that attach to the front or centre but before you buy, please take the above points into consideration or just call us and we can provide you with all the reasons why the WeeRide is clearly the best seat available
OK, so there are some NOs we should make you aware of: NO we do not connect to the handlebars or handlebar post as we do not believe this is safe and neither do the safety standards NO our seat does not interfere with the steering because of this NO the child seat does not move when you turn the handlebars as we think this in not comfortable for the child NO we have no plans to reduce the price by saving on our costs such as a lighter bar as we consider safety and quality as paramount NO your child seat will not wobble like other front seats due to the seat connections
If you feel another seat answers the above better than a WeeRide Kangaroo then you should buy it, but please can you email me aswell what this seat is, as I haven't seen it! Below is a picture of a bike. If your seat does not attach to the HEADTUBE (just under the Headset) and connects to the Handlebar post ,then you will encounter the problems above. Where you attach will be the same colour as the rest of your frame and not the colour of handlebars. Please call us for advice if unsure.

| 2. 30 SEC GUIDE TO FIT WEERIDE SEAT |
Remove back bracket
Clamp around seat post
Loosen bolt in centre of bar to get bar to correct length
Remove one bolt from front bracket, and loosen the other
Attach to head post above cross bar, this is quite a small gap
Tighten all bolts.
Attach seat
Simple as that
|
| 3. WHAT IS MIN FRAME AND HEIGHT ? |
The minimum frame size is 16”. We would recommend the minimum adult height of 5 ft 1”.
The min gap from headset to seat post is 50cm and max 60cm
|
|
4. WILL IT FIT MY BIKE? |
In 99% of cases it fits. The only bikes it won’t fit are racing bikes with drop handle bars.
If you look on the VIDEO page you can see how the bar fits
You can always send me a photo or the full name of your bike and I can let you know.
YES it uniquely fits Full Suspension Bikes
YES it fits oversized head tubes
|
|
5. DOES IT AFFECT MY RIDING STYLE? |
Yes, there is a very small change to your riding style. Having used the seat for 3 years I can tell you it is a minimal change. If you look at the feedback we have, it has never been mentioned as an issue. The seat can be fixed further towards the handle bars to minimise this effect further. Plus if you wanted to ride an extremely long distance or very fast, as you may do without the child, the seat removes in seconds.
So I would say the change to your riding style is negligible. If you at someone riding a bike they often have a slight widening at knees.
Please go to VIDEO page if you would like to see the seat in action.

|
6. THE SEAT SEEMS TO BE VERY SMALL |
The seat gives the appearance of being small as it is shallow, but we put our eldest in there until he went onto his own bike at 4.5 years old. We guarantee your child will fit in the seat on their 4th birthday.
|
|
7. I AM THINKING OF BUYING ANOTHER FRONT SEAT |
I have tried and tested all the front seats and can honestly say the WeeRide is by far the best product available. It is safer, fits more bikes, is more fun to use and is much more comfortable for the child
Here are some of my observations on other front seats…
None have headrests for when the baby falls asleep
None have the thicker seat padding
None have enclose footrests
None have 5 point safety straps
If you have any particular questions about another seat, I am able to answer as have tested, so feel free to email
|
|
8. IS THERE A WEIGHT LIMIT ON HOW LARGE MY CHILD COULD BE? |
The seat carries a maximum weight of 15 kg and at a minimum the child should be 1 years old (must be able to hold their head up). Though we know many children who have gone in at 9 months.
|
|
9. IS THERE A MAXIMUM HEIGHT MY CHILD COULD BE? |
The only constraints on the height of a child is that their knees must fit under the handlebars. We know 5 year olds who have used the seat. But I would say that by the time your child passes 4 they will be looking for an alternative.

|
10. YOU SAY THAT THIS FITS MOST BICYCLES... HOW CAN I TELL
IF IT WILL FIT MINE? WHAT IF I BUY IT AND IT DOES NOT FIT MY BICYCLE? |
If your bike is at least a 16" frame and
not racing handlebars it should fit. We often have people think the gap
under the headset is too small, but trust me, it isn't! You can always email
us to check for you. If we say it will fit your bike and it doesn't, we will
take the seat back off you at our cost.
|
|
11. WHY CAN'T I USE IT ON MY RACING (DROP-HANDLED) BICYCLE? |
With racing handlebars, the rider leans forward too much for the child to sit comfortably. |
|
12. ONCE IT IS ON MY BICYCLE, DO I HAVE TO TAKE IT OFF? |
No. You can remove the child carrier itself from the steel support bar quite easily - it is attached by a single thumb screw - for putting the bike on a carrier, or if you wish to ride without the carrier. The bar on which the carrier is mounted remains on the bicycle and does not interfere with normal riding. |
|
13. HOW EASY/HARD IS IT TO INSTALL? |
You should be able to install it yourself in less than 20 minutes. |
|
14. HOW MUCH DOES IT WEIGH? |
|
Installed weight is just over 7lbs/3.2Kgs. |
|
15. WILL THE SPARE HITCH FIT MY TAG ALONG? |
It will obviously fit our WeeRide tags.
The measurements for other tags are:
It will fit a male connector of 25mm square, and the quick release hole is 20mm from the bike
|
|
16. WHAT SHOULD I BUY THE PRO INSTEAD OF THE CO? |
The Pro is an aluminium model that will never rust and is 4kg lighter.
It looks stunning due to its clear red varnish on the brushed aluminium.
But it is personal choice versus budget at the end of the day.
We have the best priced tags whichever you decide to buy.

|
18. IS THIS SEAT SAFE? |
I have always believed this seat is the safest you could buy due to its position, and the way it connects to the bike, and the fact Mothercare also tested years ago when they first stocked and were very impressed.
Well now the EU agree.
WHAT IS EN 14344? It is the safety standard set by the EU for child bike seats.
It tests the seat for build quality and safety, WEERIDE SEATS PASS EN14344.
Beware – there our other seats who claim they have met the EN14344 standard that actually don’t – any seat that attaches to your handlebars will fail EN14344 as this is unsafe.
I won’t bore you with all the details of the standard, but here is a brief summary

23. BIKE SEAT DEBATE |
So you want to know more about kid’s bike seats?
First of all, who can you believe?
We have worked in this business for a long time.
We spent 2 years clearing our seats to the EU standards (EN14344 is the safety standard for children’s bike seats), so we know it inside and out.
Just look at our feedback, all we have is happy customers.
We have looked at every seat out there – the good, the bad, and the dangerous. We are happy to say what we like about other seats, and what we don’t.
Yes, we only sell the WeeRide because we only want to sell the best in the market. We bought one 5 years ago and now run a company to sell them as we thought it was so good, and still do.
What should I consider when buying any seat?
Safety – number 1 priority, you must know your child is safe Comfort – if not comfortable, they won’t enjoy. Ensure good padding and seat support. Fun – you want both of you to enjoy the experience, not just the rider!
Should you buy a rear seat?
I personally don’t like as it puts all the weight on the rear of the bike and more importantly for me, you can’t communicate with your child. If I had to buy one, it would be the Co Pilot Limo as it is built very well and is comfortable.
So which front seat should I choose?
None! That may look mad but even though they are all known as front seats, the WeeRide is actually a centre mounted seat and this is probably the most important point.
Our seat UNIQUELY fits to the bike by spreading the weight over the frame
.It does not attach in any way to the handlebars. Only choose a seat that attaches to the frame of your bike.
This is the first question you should ask, does it attach to the handlebars?
If they say yes, then walk away. If they say they meet the safety standard EN 14344, they are misleading you.
This is a clipping from EN14344....“Front seats must have at least one attachment point to the bike, which is not the handlebar or the extension of the handlebar stem”
There are lots more parts to the standard that a seat needs to meets such as: Movable footrests
A certain height of sides and back protection
Two movement release of buckle
I could go on, but when you see a seat with no back protection and it says it meets the EN 14344 you have to ask yourself some questions.
But if they don’t meet EN 14344 are they unsafe?
No, not in my opinion, it is an EU guideline and your instinct and common sense may make you just as good a judge!
Though if a seat attaches to the handlebars, then I would steer clear as you are putting all the weight on the handlebars and in my opinion, and the EU officials, this is dangerous. It also makes it difficult to steer and the kid gets thrown around, but they are smaller issues.
EN14344 is available online if you did want to check the facts or you can call the BSI in the UK who would be able to clarify any points. If you feel any company is misrepresenting information then you should report them to Trading Standards. I have further questions? Please feel free to email me at Mat@WeeRideUK.co.uk
I will try and give you an objective answer.
I am not here to talk down other seats, and just deal in facts, as there is a lot of misinformation on Ebay and other sites
Yes, I believe the WeeRide is the best in the market which is why I sell it.
But there are others I like and I can tell you why eg. UFP, Rabbit etc(If you do work for another bike seat company and feel any of the information above is incorrect, please feel free to contact me and I will happily amend. The EN14344 is quoted from the standard) |
